Vicky was born and raised in the small, wonderfully quirky village of Elmwood, Wisconsin. With a population of 742 people and an affinity for UFO sightings (it is the self proclaimed "UFO Capital of the World"), Vicky's music reflects her hometown’s charm.
Vicky’s love of music began very early in her life. She started piano lessons when she was six years old and unlike most children, never had to be asked to practice. This passion for music earned Vicky a scholarship to The University of Wisconsin at River Falls where she graduated with a music degree. Next she earned a masters degree in Arts Administration from St. Mary's University (to quote her father, "Just in case!") and did what any accomplished musician would do, she accepted a job at a construction company as an accounting administrator. Vicky discovered very quickly that life behind a desk was not nearly as rewarding as life behind a piano and in 2000; she left the construction company, and started writing songs for MOMENT OF CLARITY, her first original piano solo CD. Shortly thereafter Vicky moved to Chicago where she released another piano solo album, A WINTER MOMENT, a collection of original and traditional holiday music, which has gone on to sell thousands of copies on Vicky's self-started record label, Triad Entertainment. In 2002, Vicky moved back to Minnesota while traveling across the Midwest, playing and promoting her third and most critically acclaimed and most powerful piano solo album, DREAM WITH ME.â€. In 2004, Vicky’s enthusiasm and dedication as well as the personal sadness she had been experiencing at this time manifested itself in her breakout EP “Hold On†a six-song collection of deeply emotional vocal songs beautifully reflecting an introspective period in her life. As Vicky steadily worked her way through this difficult time, her career was beginning to take off. She was signed by GL Berg Entertainment, the EP received airplay on college, community and internet radio stations, and she won a scholarship to the Old Number 9 Songwriting Workshop in Waring, Texas hosted by Lloyd Maines and Terri Hendrix. This trip to Texas completely influenced her songwriting style and her life style like nothing else ever had. She returned energized and focused with a newfound confidence in her ability to write and perform music. Vicky’s live shows took on a brand new life as she bravely opened up her heart to the crowds and invited them into her life through her stories and lyrics. Her rewarding result is that Vicky now tours over 150 dates a year based on the strength of her live performances. In 2005, she released the critically acclaimed full length CD, REACH. Vicky weaved her talents as a producer, singer/songwriter and musician into an incredible debut album retailed by Borders Books and Music. On REACH, Emerson enlisted the talents of Minneapolis based musicians Dean Magraw (MMA Best Guitar Player 2005), Gordy Johnson (MMA Best Bass Player 2004), Steve Goold, Ryan Lee, Joanna James (MMA Best Female Vocalist 2005) and Matthew Freed (Cloud Cult). The year of 2006 promises to be her busiest year yet as she will tour nationally performing for colleges, corporate events, house concerts, music festivals, radio stations and clubs "I realize I am so fortunate for this opportunity to do what I love to do full-time. I love meeting people from all over the country and experiencing music with them.
