An independently released compact disc by Saint Simons Island, Georgia, guitarist Warren Buttler, "THE PROPERTIES OF MERCY" displays the range of emotions and melodic possibilities when Spanish style guitar collides with modern electric guitars and guitar synthesizers.
"THE PROPERTIES OF MERCY" uses a variety of guitars and tones to create an instrumental sound which can defy classification as either rock or new age.
"People in the music business always ask, who or what you sound like. It's part of the business to be able to describe your music," Buttler says. "The best method I found to adequately describe my music is to tell people to take 1/3 Pink Floyd, 1/3 flamenco guitar, and 1/3 Andean Mountain music and that's what I do."
"THE PROPERTIES OF MERCY" offers a rather wide range of music centered around this unique musical texture. From a Fernando Sor classical guitar piece with storm and rain as a background, to a new age "striptease" number 'PLAYING WITHOUT A NET" which is currently under consideration by Kathy Black Productions in Hollywood as a soundtrack, to "COLLECT CALL FROM THE PRYAMIDS AT GIZA" with a distinct Arabic flair, "THE PROPERTIES OF MERCY" can take either center stage for your listening attention or perform as quiet background entertainment.
