My full name is Paul Winthrop Taylor but because there is already a Paul Taylor who is a recording artist I just use my middle name to identify myself as a recording artist.
All my music is synthesizer though it doesn't always sound like it. Everything I've put on Differences In Space was composed, performed/sequenced and recorded by me. When I write music I use Cubasis as a MIDI sequencer. I write a base MIDI track, play it back and then improvise to that and then perhaps play that back and do another track and so on. Much work is done after the initial improvisation usually.

Differences In Space
The music on Differences In Space I would describe as lively new age music. Today synthesizers are simulating acoustic instruments very realistically. A number of the tracks use piano, flute, guitar, drum and other synthesizer simulated sounds. For a good percentage of the pieces the melody is carried by a variety of synthesizer sounds. You'll hear a switching among different sounds as the piece progresses. Examples of this are Lively Spirits, Light Variations, Goo Which Is Light Blue, Less Gravity, Up and Down and Ascending Vibrations.

There are three, what I call, drum kit pieces because they use drum kits from my synthesizers. They are Controlled
Chaos, Sensible Nonsense and Craziness To The Second Power.
They are chiefly based in rhythym and percussion with no
melody or perhaps a melody of a different sort.

Michael Stearns' music has made a real impact on me and
it's influence can be heard in the pieces Harmonious Space
and Cricket Chorus. Harmonious Space has similarities to his
music but I think it has a different feel. Cricket Chorus is
closer to sounding like something he would do.

Among my best pieces on Differences In Space are the following: The Power Of Subtle Differences, Goo Which Is Light Blue,
High Resolution, Less Gravity and Instrumental Conversation.

I think that anyone who appreciates classical music, light rock, popular music and the music of new age artists like Ray Lynch(one of my favorites) will enjoy the
music on Differences In Space thoroughly.
