Gabriel Blue is a Portland, OR based four-piece band that has been playing together for close to three years. There are three singer/songwriters in the group.

Collin Hegna: Bass, Vocals, Guitar
Rory Carroll: Guitar, Vocals
Nalin Silva: Guitar, Vocals
Brian Gardiner: Drums, Percussion

The music ranges from sonic drenched guitar rock to pensive restrained lullaybyes. You'll find back country campfire folk numbers and keg-stand-mandatory punk ditties. Swanky pseudo jazz and postpunkpowerpoplampoonery collide with un-metered, distorted tales of youth and burglary to entertain and enlighten.

Gabriel Blue released their debut album, Over the Counter, on June 1st, 1999 while opening for Built to Spill. The lush, crisp stereo sound produced fan and college radio favorites "Flying Kites in Japanese" and "Discount Prescriptions".

The new album, The Runaway Sun, takes the creative energy that helmed Over the Counter and applies it to a wider variety of song structures. GB took more time in their home studio, 10th Floor Productions, to explore a range of instruments and entertain midnight suggestions. Some new sounds include an accordion, an acoustic guitar, various samples, a gospel choir, a wurlitzer, a heap of percussion, a variety of vocal effects, a richly melodic washer/dryer and some passionately played pots and pans. This album was written, recorded, and mixed by the band. Feel free to take a listen . . .
