Guitarist Robert Fripp of King Crimson once said in Musician magazine in 1984, "Music is the cup that holds the wine of silence". I always thought that was an interesting thing to say. When I was working with this album I felt it would be an appropriate title for the album. Again like the 3 or 4 albums before it, this album had a decidedly biblical tone to it. Some of the songs like "Paul in Athens" were intended to describe the apostle Paul's journey to Greece and his infamous debate with the scientists and philosopher's of the day at the Sargophygus. Still other songs start out as empty canvases and develop over time like a fine wine. Hence the idea. Feel free to have a listen and tell me how the wine is.
