Axium was formed in 1999 by lead vocalist, David Cook and drummer, Bobby Kerr. These two went through a few other members in Axium, but these two always stuck together. It was in May of 2001, that David and Bobby finally found what they had been searching for: The missing link of Axium, Jeff Shrout. When Jeff came into the picture, he added the exact punch and charisma that Axium had been looking for. Since then, Axium has accomplished what they have set out to do. Despite their young age, Axium has proven that they can play with the best in the business, sharing the stage with 8 Stops 7, Caroline's Spine, Maroon 5, Fountains of Wayne, and SMASH MOUTH! Not to mention in May, Axium was named one of MILK's Top 100 Unsigned Acts in America and is currently listed in their top 15.
Axium released their debut full-length album, Matter of Time, back in December of 2002 and have supported it on the road playing at venues which reside in the states of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Indiana, and California! The long anticipated sophomore release, "Blindsided", hit the public on September 12, 2003 and it already has gained and reached a much wider fan base for Axium.
2003 was a very successful and eventful year for AXIUM and '04 can only be expected to have twice the hard work, twice the music, and twice the fun. "Blindsided" has thrust Axium into the limelight of not only their previous fans, but those who have long awaited pure, hard ROCK from the Midwest. Touring has been a strong point for the band in the past year; traveling to many new places and reaching the broader fanbase that Axium has planned. Recently named Kansas City's best band, Axium has proven why they do what they do. 2004 has also brought a new LIVE album and yet to be released is Axium's anticipated 3rd studio album in 2 years, entitled "The Story Thus Far."
Axium deserves to be heard on a massive scale and it is our plan to make that happen!
