Originally formed in May Of 2000 as Better Than Bad. Founding members Vocalist John Erickson, Drummer Jim Flanders And Bassist Frank Waltman hooked up with the "Two Headed Guitar Monster" of Guitar players Joel Gay and Tom Janes. Soon they hit the local scene and made a name for themselves as a strong live act. Right away the band turned heads with their powerhouse versions of their favorite cover tunes. But not wanting to be just another cover band Better Than Bad began performing their own original music live and the crowds took notice. Such stand outs as Usables, Fortress, and the heartfelt ballad End Of This Ride got such good reaction that band hit the studio. Better Than Bad's debut CD was released in March of 2005 to great fan reaction and reviews. The Better Than Bad debut has even sold some over the pond in Europe. In September of 2005 both John Erickson and Joel Gay both chose to step away from the band to spend more time with their families. Undaunted Jim, Tom and Frank decided to carry on as a power trio and changing the name of the band to BTB. With 2006 on the horizon BTB are in rehearsals to show everyone that real Rock And Roll is still alive and well in the Midwest. BTB is now ready to showcase the heart of the band and that's the soulful guitar playing of Tom Janes. And the thunderous rythmn section of Jim Flanders and Frank Waltman. Come out to a BTB show sometime and be prepared to be amazed.
