Break Even is an upcoming rock band from Denmark. The band was formed in the winter of 2004 and consists of three members; Martin Jorgensen on guitar and lead vocals, Allan Orberg on bass and backup vocals and Kian Mejdal on drums. Break Even made their début on the Danish rock scene only months after their creation and has since then played numerous live gigs.
Martin was formerly a member of the now dissolved Frozen Pearl with whom he enjoyed minor succes. Among other things, Allan has his musical background in one of the best D-A-D (Disneyland After Dark) cover-acts in Denmark; Marlboro Men. Kian is the youngest of the three and has formerly played with two more unknown rock acts.
The music produced by Break Even is best described as melodic rock with a vocal nerve. This mixed with energetic instrumental passages introduces the listener to some solid rock music that separates itself from the often fine-tuned popstar sound of present time.
In the middle of November 2004 Break Even recorded their first EP where Tom Lindby, drummer of Danish band Natural Born Hippies, worked as producer. This EP has received fine reviews from people in the music industry as well as users on the internationally recognized music web site GarageBand.com.
Therefore, if you want to experience a fresh breath of air on the Danish rock scene, Break Even is an obvious choice and without doubt worth keeping an eye on.
