BURY THE GIRL, formed in 2003, began as a project of former members of LIMITED SLIP: Guitarist Ben Schmidt and Drummer Mike Rochelle. As quoted on the story of the band, Ben Schmidt stated, "Well, things were starting to deteriorate in Limited Slip (which was always fronted by a female vocalist, 4 to be precise), and I was out one night with our promoter and told him, well maybe it's time to 'Bury the Girl' and get a guy to sing, and he was like There's your band name man!!! I figured it had a good hook and kept it on the back burner, until Limited Slip split about 6 months later. I needed some time to regroup, and got pretty lazy for about a year. Then, one night I was just puking sick drunk at a karaoke bar, and I hear this dude singing some pretty killer modern rock tunes, and doing a good job of it. My bossy-assed girlfriend at the time insisted that I talk to him, which I didn't much feel like doing since I was ready to vomit from alcohol poisoning, but she told him who I was and he came over and has irritated me ever since. Ha Ha. So thats how we met Travis." Prior to meeting Travis Krum, Mike and Ben had been jamming with Bassist Phillip McCuddy off and on, whom they had met in a similar fashion one intoxicated evening in Billings, Montana. "He just keeps hanging in there." states Schmidt, "No matter how crappy I treat him. He has a real 'stick-to-it-iveness', kinda like herpes, Ha Ha- I'm really glad he's a good, solid bassist otherwise we'd be screwed!" They have since played numerous shows including Rockin' the Rivers 2004, with Great White, Jackyl, Seven Mary Three, Gin Blossoms and many others.
