Rico: Bass player. Veteran of the Bay Area scene. Rico rocked with the Spit Muffins, Candyass (with East Bay Ray), and the White Trash Debutantes. After moving to Portland in 1999, he formed Reverse Cowgirl. Rico and the drummer met Melodie at a gig with her band, the Tourettes.
Melodie: Guitar & vocals. A Portland native, she began playing in bands right after high school, beginning as the keyboard player for punk freaks Velveteen Amoeba. Does anybody remember the parties at Joe's Diner in NW Portland during the early '90s? After that madness came to an end, Melodie and other former Amoebas carried on as the Plague (Melodie on bass), the Devastatements (Melodie on drums), and the Die Jobs (drums again, Melodie was the original "Mrs. Pink"). Around the turn of the century, Melodie started an all-girl band called the Tourettes, this time playing guitar and writing and singing her own new material. Meeting up with Rico spawned Cootie Platoon in 2001. Andy: Drummer boy. How did Cootie Platoon manage to get this young guitar virtuoso to become their drummer? According to legend, since the band already had a guitar player they simply lopped off his best guitar finger and forced him to play drums. Whenever he gets an itching to go start his own band they have only to bring our the shears. Once he gets an eyefull of the glint from the shiny metal blades he loses all interest and buckles back down to his chops. Check out the artist's website: http://www.cootieplatoon.com Track List: 1.
