This album is the very first collection of songs from Deacon a/k/a Ryan Winkle. From the beginning to the end, it takes you through an eclectic melody ride made from pure creativity molded from classic music such as Led Zeppelin, Brian Wilson (Beach Boys), Crosby,Stills,Nash, andYoung, The Beatles, (an innovative yet dead on remake of "She's Leaving Home"), and on down the line with Michael Jackson (Off The Wall, Thriller era), Miles Davis, Dizzie, Herbie Hancock (Track 7 "Carlos the Carlton"), and well, it is an obvious footprint in the growing spread of Deacon's music. You see, it starts with an orchestrated melodic piece that sounds like shy innocence surrounded by craft written and made for a symphony in your dreams.
Then comes the 2nd track with full on rock & roll with an ego fashion made for the ass kick. All of a sudden, it drops down to track 3, "The Picking Song", which in general is an acoustic song that builds up to fast pace jammin' then, drops you down like a message from a colorado prom queen by fireside. Then there is the blues for the next song, and then a Beatles remake, (mentioned earlier), and then straight funk jazz with horn arrangements that make you think this guy has a lot of time on his hands, (not true), blah blah blah I could tell you more but I don't want to ruin the fun and surprise. This album was made almost 5 years ago so, try to imagine what Deacon is exploring now in 2003. You guessed it, mind blowing shit!!
