Death Mask spins sultry stories through rock, swing, surf, pop, & funk - the resulting sound is alarmingly sweet! Each musician in this eclectic
quartet has played in a variety of NYC metro area bands and on some of the finest stages in the NYC/NJ indie scene including: The Knitting Factory, Izzy Bar, The Stanhope House, Kroghs, Arlene's Grocery, The Continental, The Baggot Inn, and Galapagos Art Space.
The group was founded by bassist Boris Veysman and guitarist Mike Biskup in the spring of 2002. Both Boris and Mike had been pursuing careers in music prior to creating Death Mask. They recruited singer Katy Cunningham and drummer Steve Dans to add their strange and singular styles to the group later that year. From their studio work for independent and signed acts, to live performances with all walks of musical ensembles, the members
of Death Mask had the training, experience and backbone to create a wildly new sound.
