I wanted to say a few quick words about it before you continue your browsing...
This album rocks. Hard. And although there are some mellow tracks on it here and there (like our very popular acoustic cover of Linkin Park's "One Step Closer") even they are pure rock. No sissy girl Pop stuff here. And it's about time. We need more women represented in rock music. I mean the guys are fine, but they only give you one side of the story. So here's the other. Check it out. I know you'll lke it. It's really good stuff.
And now here's the official bio with all the "required" facts and information. Anything else you want to know can be found at my website, or you can email me and I'll tell you myself. Enjoy the music. And don't be afriad to turn it up loud when you play it!
WHO IS DEENA NOROIAN???
Deena Noroian (pronounced no-roy-an) is a girl from LA who makes music. Blatant, liberated, disquieting, revealing, pure, earnest, dynamic music. She's been autonomous and on her own since she started writing and performing songs five years ago, and is steadily realizing the career she set out to achieve.
Using only her instincts and the help of a small indie label, Deena plunged into the music business in 1997 and began recording her first full length album titled "Story Of A Girl". This debut album featured 12 original songs about empowerment, independence, and affliction. She promoted her debut album to thousands of new fans on the West Coast while touring with her band as the opening act for Pat Benatar's Summer Tour 2000.
Deena's follow up CD, "No Alternative", was released early this year on her own label Unruly Helga Records. Since it's release, "No Alternative" has steadily been building a foundation of raves and reviews about the 10 original songs, all penned by Deena herself. It is also the home to the successful acoustic single "One Step Closer", a Linkin
Park cover, that has already been played in several major Alternative-Rock radio markets, including Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Detroit and Washington DC. She is currently promoting her sophomore effort by touring the states.
In addition to other impressive accolades, Deena is a featured BMI Songwriter, as well as the first band to play the Los Angeles Independent Music Festival. Branching out onto the big screen, Deena currently has her songs featured in several Independent Films and is actively seeking more opportunities to challenge her songwriting abilities.
Deena is also a talented voice over artist. She has done numerous jingles for over 1,500 syndicated and local radio programs all over the country including her favorite, The Howard Stern Show, as well as others like Rick Dees In The Morning, The Kevin and Bean Show, and The Michael Reagan Talk Show just to name a few. Deena has also worked in television as a singer for NBC and CBS performing various promo jingles.
No stranger to hard work and dedication, Deena has broken into a business known for it's stifling contracts, million dollar faux-pas, and artistic frustrations, avoiding all of it. How? She loves what she does, she's good at it, and she believes that if you work hard, have integrity, and enjoy what you do and who you do it with, you will be acknowledged and rewarded for it. It's not always about luck, who you know, and being in the right place at the right time...
Sometimes it's just about the music.
