David Angstrom -guitars Paul Dmytrewycz -guitars Mark Hendricks -bass Chris Leathers -drums Atlanta's Devil May Care creates powerfully melodic music underscoring the often intense and deeply personal lyrics of singer Aleah X. Their debut album, Delicate contains 10 tracks produced by David Angstrom (Supafuzz) with additional co-production and mixing credits going to producer Don McCollister (Sister Hazel, Shawn Mullins, Indigo Girls). Delicate was recorded at Nickel and Dime Studios while several band members were living at the studio prior to relocating to Atlanta, GA. Backed by Chris Leathers (drums), David Angstrom (guitars), Mark Hendricks (bass) and Paul Dmytrewycz (guitars), Aleah exposes herself within layers of lush distortion and melodies. On Delicate "Disappearing" deals with a woman's struggle with aging, while "That Girl" delivers a "Russ Meyer" attitude that Aleah is known for. In the song "Wide Open" she sings "I'm getting tired of waiting for my life to begin" and in the devil-pronged rocker "Mother" she speaks of the emptiness and confusion brought on during childhood. Devil May Care has quickly become a favorite in Atlanta, GA, Lexington, KY (the band's original base and home of Mark Hendricks and Paul D) and several spots in between. Delicate proves that Devil May Care rocks and is able to explore several styles while defining their own. Check it out for yourself.
