IN early 2001, guitar wizard and only remaining original-member Axel Ritt returned with a fully new line up, and made critically acclaimed "One Million Lightyears from Home" the first DOMAIN studio album in ten years, one of the big HARD ROCK surprises of last year in Germany. After successfully touring with BONFIRE in April, the new formed band then went on their first ever headlining tour in October, co-headlined by Swiss label mates SHAKRA and German melodic rock hopefuls HOTWIRE as the supporting act. The whole package, named THE MELODIC RETURN TOUR, became one of the melodic rock highlights of 2001.
As sort of a thank you to the fans, the band also released a tour special EP named "NEW HORIZONS", with eight acoustic versions of new and old DOMAIN classics only.
With THE ARTEFACT, their 5 Full -length studio recording, DOMAIN returns impressively strong and more powerful than ever! The album itself, again produced by Gutarmeister AXEL RITT in his own Meadow Studio, shows the many different sides of the DOMAIN sound. There's up tempo tracks, Like the Opening "CHARADE" or the double-bass-speed neck breakers "BLACK HOLE VISIONS" and EXPERIENCE XTC (Axel Ritt sets the pace as of one of Germany's fastest guitar players), as well as classic eighties Melodic rock anthems like "ALMOST EDEN" or "DON'T COUNT ON LOVE". With their version of the BEATLES CLASSIC "Day tripper" DOMAIN will take every rock club by storm, and every old fan of the band will simply go off!
THIS ALBUM is released in NIGHTMARE RECORDS in North America, MASSACRE RECORDS in Europe
