Exit Blue actually started as a short-term "super-group" made up of representatives from several area churches solely to provide music for a locally organized youth function called "the Crave." "The Crave Band" played music straight from the popular air waves but recast it to demonstrate the absence of truth offered by the world. This secular music was balanced with selections from Christian artists, emphasizing the peace and hope found in Christ.
Due to the overwhelming popularity of the event, church leaders scheduled a second Crave, bringing back the same Crave band to perform. Before long the band, happy with the chemistry developing, decided to pursue music outside of just the context of the Crave. Members started writing music and the Crave Band morphed into Exit Blue. Their first studio release, the Exit Blue EP, was released in January of 2005.
Exit Blue is still playing the bi-annual Craves, but they have also explored new venues and events. Most recently, Exit Blue provided all the worship music for "Impact," a state-wide youth conference for the Evangelical Free Church. Working in conjunction with drama troupe One Time Blind, the weekend was an exciting time with lives being changed all around.
Presently, the band is back home writing new music. Once a new body of work is completed, Exit Blue will be playing a more ambitious concert schedule. Look for them to be playing a lot in late spring and summer. Please visit the "Contact" page if you are interested in scheduling the band for an event or venue.
