In 1998 vocalist-guitarist Gordon Chapman, drummer Jeff Lathers, and bassist James Nummer embarked on a journey to create a heavy rock trio with intertwining vocal, guitar, and bass melodies, odd time signatures, and heavy rhythmic grooves. Deriving their music from many different styles and influences, Gordon called it a Gelatinous Goo and it stuck! Soon after starting rehearsals to write the Goo, James had to leave the project because of personal drama (that also inspired the song FRIDAY THE 13th). Gordon and Jeff then decided to finish writing and recording the CD with Gordon writing and playing the bass rhythms and melodies. After recording was finished Jeff abandoned the project to fulfill his domestic responsibilities, leaving gordon to finish the CD on his own. The resulting Gelatinous Goo CD is a glimpse into the mind and soul of Gordon Chapman. The lyrical content is taken from Gordons personal experiences, philosophies, and imagination. From SPACE AND TIME about the role we play in the universe, LIGHT MY WAY about how his son Zach (who is autistic impaired) can change his mood with a smile, to SWING THING about communicating with alien beings though playing guitar! One thing is evident, Gordon Chapman's Gelatinous Goo is the sound of the future!
