Like an awkward musical vagrant, Marr has been seemingly placed where there is no place at all. An averse pop wave smashing upon small hopeless onlookers, Marr surged onto the jagged Hamilton music scene in the spring of 2002. They began mixing metaphors shortly thereafter.
Although striking to the eye, Marr is anti fluff. Please beware! This band is a fusion of both intense and mundane influence. What sometimes starts as an infectious, fashionable song will suddenly transform into a ragging, death metal opus. Only true musical devotees need make a claim. If the sign said "Art Rock," the small print might reveal that this art is best viewed through a pair of abstract binoculars. Marr is committed to their musical form. Honing their skills, touring habitually, recording methodicly and playing constantly throughout Central and Eastern Canada and the Northern United States. Marr has gracially shared stages with: Tugnut, The Inflation Kills, Jon Epworth, Mohagany Frog, Measured In Angles and Sailboats are White. On the frontside of 2006, Marr has rolled over yet another ambitious tour to thunderous applause. More recently, the band has completed an innovative three song E.P. recorded and co produced by Justin Koop (Billy Talent, Black Maria, Silverstein) The demo showcases the bands unwillingness to follow the status quo. Although only in limited release the disc has collected an overwhelming response. What does the future hold for Marr? A new full length album to be released in spring? Yes! A live show that won't make you regret paying an unreasonable cover charge? Undoubtedly. More mixed metaphors to the disgust of literary critcs everywhere? Indeed.
