Formed in the fall of 2001, it was obvious that the members of Mindshank had something special. Separate musical backgrounds bring different genres of music to the band. Mindshank performs at nightclubs and festivals with a large list of cover tunes that range from classics to the new pop and metal. Always able to please the toughest crowds. Practicing in their own 24 track-recording studio has allowed the band to write record and produce their own CD's. The Stress Relief CD was released under their own record label on October 31st of 2003. The songs Headchange and Speechless held the top spot on the national independent music web site Broadjam. Several cuts off the first CD are played on local radio stations in Ft Wayne, South Bend and other small towns in Indiana. MINDSHANK Stress Relief CD is available online at cdbaby.com and has sold copies in Europe, Asia and across the US.
Performing at the New York International Music Fest, held at the Palms in Las Vegas, the band unveiled two new cuts (One Simple Line & Break it Down) along with 6 songs from the first CD. The band was voted top talent and appeared in the December issue of IFQ magazine, which is distributed nationally.
Performing and the 2004 Jamfest (battle of the bands) in St. Joe county Mindshank faced tough competition. Bands from Chicago to Detroit competed. Performing outside on a concert sound stage in front of a few thousand fans, Mindshank won the $1000 prize performing an exciting and professional show. Mindshank was voted top regional act.
Fans have been clamoring for the release of the second CD. The second CD promises to be the best work yet. Creativity and song writing skills of the members display a variety of music styles to create music that is different and unique Release date. September 10th 2005 includes 12 new songs
Goals:
The band would like to link up with record labels, distributors or industry affiliates to help get them on the national music scene. Mindshank is very good at writing, recording and performing music but weak in promoting/distribution. The Guys would like nothing better than to go pro and spend more time on the music. Band members hold down full time jobs and still write record and perform. The record label that signs Mindshank will get an inspired totally dedicated band, willing to do whatever it takes.
Members of Mindshank include founder Mike Becker, lead guitar and Vocals, Mike Krill lead guitar and vocals, Larry Shepherd bass guitar, Brian Frushour keyboard and vocals and Roger Rife drums. To get band info, upcoming gig dates and hotlinks to fan websites log on to www.mindshank.com
