My So-Called Band have existed since 1995 fighting narrow-mindedness in the dominant society and in the punk scene. Musically, we do not fit into easy, cookie-cutter punk ghettos. We are inspired by the early punk bands such as The Clash, The Ramones, and The Sex Pistols as well as the early '80s bands such as Black Flag, TSOL, Husker Du, and The Descendents and by today's great bands like Dillinger Four, Toys That Kill, and Fleshies.

We sometimes have political lyrics but they never broach heavy-handed, judgemental self-righteousness. We aim to subvert by having meaningful fun as opposed to the well-worn punk extremes of sanctimonious preaching or, its opposite, the celebration of mindless ignorance. We may know a few things, but we don't think that we're smarter than our audience.
