ORBIS is the enigmatic Detroit-based concoction brewed from the modern day essence of legends the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and The Who with a twist of James Brown and Stevie Wonder. The stage is ablaze with Orbis's infectious live shows! With their combined extensive experience and professional backgrounds, percussionist Andy Binkowski and bassist, Seán Harris, lay the heavy-grooving backbone for musical masterpieces that lend them selves as the perfect canvas for Carl Yagley's raw and tasty guitar work with Peter Asaro's soulful, intense vocal styling. The word Orbis means, "Of the world," and is a perfect description to the music of Orbis that consistently crosses genres and borders with a international sound that moves rock lovers world wide!

... no audience is safe.

In their debut release, Two Story, you can get the first taste of what to expect from Orbis's future. If you love driven, passionate, soulful rock music, look no further! The band is prolific! Led by Andy and Peter's seemingly endless inspiration for song writing, and Carl and Seán intuitive ability to come up with the perfect compliments to the songs and gifts for arrangement. Orbis already has another two albums' of material lined up and being road-tested to make the next albums.

Orbis Band Members:
Pete Asaro-Lead Vox/Rhythm Guitar
Peter got involved with music as a percussionist playing with many Detroit area acts before starting to sing with the "Intellectual Mosquitos." Pete moved out to L.A. for a stint as a drummer with the rock band, Pretty Sneaky Sis. After a visit from his childhood comrade, Andy, Pete realized two things. 1, He should sing instead of drums because he was genuinely good at it, and 2, that he hated living in L.A. He moved back to the Motown capital and started writing for what became Orbis. Pete loves Italian food and women, and wants to be a 'Funk Brother' when he grows up.

Andy Binkowski-Percussion/Backing Vox
Andy has worked with and been a founding member of several of Detroit's best musical acts and a freelance player in the scene. He attended Wayne State's prestigious Jazz Studies program and can swing and rhumba with the best of 'em! Andy is also a fantastic recording engineer and analog junkie. It was Andy was responsible for recording and playing almost all of the instruments on Orbis's initial demos and most of Two Story's bed tracks. An E-bay junkie, he's considering seeking counseling to help deal with his condition. he's also a Gemini, owns seven Mazda RX-7z, and collects & plays orange and green Ludwig Vistalite drums exclusively!

Seán Harris-Bass Guitar/Backing Vox
Seán is the self-proclaimed "Funkiest Motha' Foxxer you know!!" A sould an funk authority in the Detroit area and alumnus of Wayne State University's Jazz Program, Seán has worked with and been a founding force in many Detroit based, Regional and National acts, including Lava/Atlantic recording artists, The Atomic Fireballs, TrippHorn Solution (see CD listed on CDBaby!), The Lolita Trio (Lounge Jazz), Bráithre na Mara (Irish pub and nationalist music), The Gypsy Strings (1930's European hot jazz), Crush (DMB tribute)and even a season with the acclaimed Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra. He also freelances as a sessions player and performer in any and every style he can get his dirty little hands on. Seán is an Aries and a screaming liberal political commentator. Ha also loves swing and salsa dancing and loves to cook fine cuisine.

Carl Yagley-Guitar/Backing Vox
Sifting through the sands of music,
Embracing an artifact of brilliant color and sound,
One hundred, eighty degrees towards the sun,
The Moon's got my back for inspiration.
To shout at the heavens when clarity is lost,
To conclude your fate before the coin is tossed,
To rediscover your love at any cost,
With an eastern sun, a new day is born.
Let us seek emotional harvesting of rhythm and rhyme.
Today could possibly be a good one...
Mr. Yagley is a Sagittarius and he obviously hates writing bios about himself, offering this as his only explanation:
"Me play you good! Play guitar long time!"
