PROJECT X
“Blueprint For Xcess†Canada's reputation as a hotbed of musical talent has been growing steadily for the past few decades. Bands like Rush, Bryan Adams, Saga, Loverboy, Triumph and Headpins have educated the world as to the strength of this country's rock scene. Now we have a new addition to the scene, Project X and their debut album "Blueprint For Xcess". This stunning debut combines the efforts of two well known and respected writers, vocalist Don Wolf (Whitewolf and Point of Power) and guitarist/writer/producer Kenny "Kaos" Loney (Paul Laine, Darby Mills and White Vision). The album also features a host of Canada's top musicians such as Scott Smith (Loverboy), Steve Crane (Point Of Power, Don Wolf, Making Changes), George Criston (Kick Axe) Andy Lorimer and Darcy Deutsch (Both of Prism). The main focus in the recording of Project X was to produce an album of straight ahead rock and to take advantage of the power both songwriters could generate. A high energy such as "Blueprint.." can not possibly go unnoticed. From the message of "Everybody's Got A Gun", to the tongue in cheek reference to late night TV phone lines in "1-900-Love", to the power of "Things You Should Know" and "Piece Of My Heart", not forgetting the beautiful and memorable "Photograph Fades", proof that this particular project should be taken very seriously. Fans of Paul Laine should also recognise the fourth track on the album as being the original versionwritten by Don & Kenny, of the song "Keep On Runnin'", released succesfully in Germany and Belgium where it topped the charts for a number of weeks. "Blueprint For Xcess" is a force to be reckoned with and maestro's Don Wolf and Kenny "Kaos" are at the forefront. Here's a little bit about these two talented guys just to remind you of their pedigree. Don Wolf Known then as Don Wilk, he is most recognised as fronting eighties melodic Hard Rock band "Whitewolf", who released two albums on RCA International namely "Standing Alone" and "Endangered Species". Both Classic White Wolf recordings (“Standing Alone†and “Endangered Speciesâ€) were remastered and re-released on CD in Japan by RCA Victor Japan, May 1996 to rave reviews and went on to sell over 8,000 copies each! In addition Don was vocalist/songwriter for "Point Of Power" who released a CD "It's About Time" in 1992, both in Canada and Japan. More recently Don has released a solo project entitled, Don Wolf, “Making Changesâ€, and has worked with producers such as Bruce Fairbairn, providing backing vocals on Poison's multi-platinum "Flesh and Blood". He also worked together with Kenny, writing the song "Keep On Runnin'" a big success for Paul Laine on his "Stick It In Your Ear" album, on Long Island International. Don has also been actively involved in the writing of a major rock musical which is gathering interest in London, New York and Las Vegas. Don has also just recently negotiated to release of some never heard before “White Wolf†material, and will be releasing it as White Wolf, “Unleashed and Unreleasedâ€. see www.ultimatevocal.com Kenny "Kaos" Loney Kenny has had major success and respect as, not only a talented guitarist, but as a gifted songwriter and producer. His co-writing has appeared on major releases worldwide, such as Loverboy's "Big Ones", Point of Power's "It's About Time", Darby Mill's "Never Look Back" and Paul Laine's "Stick It In Your Ear". His production and engineering work has included releases by Brent Lee (MCA), Alexis "Bittersweet" (Naked Records) and White Vision (Long Island International). Busy and dedicated is an understatement for this man, combine his efforts with the equally dedicated Don Wolf and the end result is "Blueprint For Xcess".
