Releese is an extremely original, passionate, and unique group, with a sound all their own!

Formed in December 1999, Releese has come a very long way in a short period of time...having shared the stage with national acts; Virgos, Nonpoint, Stroke9, Endo, Soulcracker, Darwin's Waiting Room, and Soil to name a few. Covering all the grand Ft. Lauderdale venues such as; The Culture Room, The Chili Pepper, The Factory, Sloppy Joes, Hard Rock Cafe Ft. Lauderdale, War Memorial Auditorium, and more, Releese draws hundreds of people a show, in a predominately R & B market. Men and women alike, between the ages of 13 and 40, have come to adopt Releese's brand of rock, an extension of the classics, formatted with a melodic, hard rock edge of today. Currently Releese tours much of Florida, while continuing to uphold a rigorous practice schedule. With this formula of hard work and dedication, the band foresees, and expects, tremendous future success.

Releese can be heard on South Florida's premier rock station, 94.9 Zeta, with their singles "In Your Head", "Ghost", and "Hand That Follows" all receiving the top slot during Zeta's local show. Other stations currently playing Releese include 99X (Ft. Myers) and Rock104 (Gainesville). Releese has also performed acoustically for 88.5 FM Radio X as well as 103.1 The Buzz (Palm Beaches Rock Station), and M4Radio.com (Orlando). Proving to be fan favorites, and a commercially accepted commodity, Releese has performed numerous events with 94.9 Zeta, as well as opening for numerous national acts within the next few months. The future is beyond bright for this young and immensely talented group. Let Releese make a believer out of you!!

*** All great journeys begin with a single step. And sometimes you never even see those steps coming. Like an invisible bridge suspended in fate, you take your first uncharted steps and realize, "How did I get here?" ***

Rusty Hanna and Frank Marciante began playing acoustically around the South Florida area in December 1999, after a chance meeting between them changed their lives forever. To their surprise they had built a small following of about 40-50 people, and had the idea of making their endeavor more impressive than just an acoustic duet. After relying on a few people who did not fit what Frank and Rusty were looking for, they finally found their gems. Tony Wood (drums) joined the band in March of 2000 and has been a steadfast of control and domination for the group, originally known as BLYSS. Stu Cox then joined in the fall of 2000 and the foursome was complete.

Releese ended the year 2000 by locking themselves in the studio to lay down their first 7-song album. "It was an experience for sure," Tony states. "Thank God I was able to get in there this early in my career to understand what the studio life is all about." Continuing to play local gigs, the band set out to releese their album in March 2001, and never look back. In a strange sense, it has happened for them in every way they can imagine. South Florida's Rock Station, 94.9 Zeta, has picked up on their music and three of their tracks, "In Your Head", "Ghost", and now "Hand That Follows" have been a mainstay on the local show for the past few months. Also being in the current rotation at 88.5 WKPX (Nova Southeastern Radio) Releese has developed a largely devoted following, the largest in South Florida. Releese's fan base has steadily risen to hundreds per show. As mentioned earlier, ages ranging from 13-40, the crowd is typically a 60/40 girl to guy ratio, with most girls under the age of 25. Since the releese of their first album, the band undoubtedly feels they have grown immensely as musicians and as people. As Frank says, "We were really wet behind the ears going into our first studio session," "we had no idea what to expect." Luckily Damian Mazur, the producer of the album, has been around long enough to realize, immediately, what he would be working with. "The guys were real amateurs as far as the studio was concerned. They were used to playing live and having the crowd to feed their energy. In here they had quite a learning experience. I can tell you this, I haven't worked with a start-up band, this talented, in a long, long time."

All having slightly different backgrounds, the group has taken their influences and transformed them into a unique blend of melodic, hard-edged rock.

Tony's father was a drummer, so he grew up with the rhythm in his head. "I would skip school and all my friends would come over just to here me bang away on my old kit."

Stu was an extremely talented guitar player who thought it might be "fun" to play bass in a band. He was about to give up on his musical career when Releese came into the picture, "When I first heard them I knew I wanted to be a part of their success. Luckily I got the call." Stu also plays guitar when the band performs acoustically.

According to Marciante, music and songwriting "are my "releese" from everything. I don't have any problems when I'm writing music, it's just there in my head and my soul." He adds, "All I hope for is that people can relate with what we are trying to say, and what Rusty is portraying lyrically."

The strangest story of the group would have to be Rusty, who never sang before the end of 1999. "I always knew I had a pretty decent voice from singing in the shower you know?" " I just never knew I could do what I do now"
Lyrically, Releese portrays spirituality and dealing with one's inner self. "I am a very spiritual person and I enjoy writing about my experiences that have led up to who I am today" Hanna quotes. "I also write about the truth in a lot of our songs. Nothing is braver than the truth."

With much larger obstacles ahead, Releese feels they can conquer anything that comes before them. "Believing in yourself and each other is the only way to make this work, and I know I believe in each one of these guys more now than ever." Stu also says, "these 3 guys are my family and I will go to the end with them."

For each one of them in the band it is simple; A Releese is how they live their lives. A Releese is why they play. A Releese is always given; each one of them has sacrificed time and time again. And it is a Releese that reminds them of the day they first began their journey. The journey and the dream to one day play in front of thousands of screaming fans. And to anyone out there who will ever listen, what a Releese it will be.
