I started my musical education when I was 9 years old...up to that point I didn't think I needed any.

I learned to play the trumpet and attended music school for 7 years until the age of 16.During these years I also banged on any makeshift drum kit I could put together with books, cooking pots, pillows anything that would remotely make a noise like a drum.On my 16th birthday my mum gave me a second hand drum kit (A REAL ONE) and it changed my life. All the years I had spent banging books and pots, all of a sudden there were drum sounds and I set out to learn from the best drummers in the world using the very same system of training I incorporate into the STAX system to-day.

I joined my first semi-professional band when I was 17 and continued to play with several bands and friends for the next 4 years...playing small gigs (any we could get), making demo discs and tapes and dreaming of stardom.I worked for the Civil Service in Glasgow during this period in order to finance the forever growing new PREMIER CUSTOM BLACK PEARL DRUM KIT which I had now bought....my first love to this day.At 21 I turned professional and joined an already famous band in Scotland FRENZY and played for the next 6 or 7 years with the same band.I have during that time spent hours in recording studios, writing and recording songs, spent days,weeks...no! years on the road touring the country and playing every kind of gig you could imagine from backstreet bars to 15000 seater arenas. For publishing and recording I am signed tp UNIVERSAL POYGRAM RECORDS and through their publishing division still recieve royalties from songs co-written by me and recorded by other bands in UK,Spain and Sweden.I also wrote lots of music with FRENZY, some of it still unheard to-day...but the music is just as relevant to-day.

Nowadays I compose music on the computer, guitar and keyboards as well as the drums and can create my own samples with the instruments and then manipulate the music via the software in the computer...in this way complex patterns of rhythm can be built up to create computer music, and the addition of the guitar adds new dimensions to jamming.
