Stillseed is an Aggressive Rock band currently based out of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The likelihood of four small town Saskatchewan guys (who made up about 20% of their Hamlet's population) meeting up with a hard rock vocalist from Cape Town South Africa was definitely not an expected path, and has led to the creation of Stillseed. Going with its current lineup since the beginning of 2004, the band has a solid focus.
The drive behind the writing is to blend more complex underground style metal riffs with more maisntream hard rock hooks and melodies, to bring together a whole new sonic attack for people to experience. With songs like Solitude, Find Yourself, and Short End, the band began to achieve what they set out to do, with a unique sound that has allowed them to span the vast amount of Rock's sub-genres, and play shows with bands like Into Eternity and KMFDM, as well as more mainstream bands like Holler and Social Code. With a taste of being successful in writing the way they intended, the band continues to stretch in either direction, blending more mainstream sound with more underground punch, riffs getting faster and more technical, melodies getting more solid and structured.
