Syndrome8 is the culmination of years of creativity, dedication, and hard work brought together by the merger of 3 musicians with one common passion- the love for their music.

While working separately with different rock bands on the scene, Paul and Jeff knew something was missing but didn’t realize exactly what it was until they met each other in 2002. They began laying the foundation for what would, over time, become a powerful and commanding assault of heavy riffs and songs that demanded attention. They immediately knew they were onto something.

Paul and Jeff worked hard for over a year polishing their writing style and playing. As a team, they arrange, compose and produce dark and heavy music, while always “playing to the song”.

Jeff’s crushing brutal attack and absolute passion behind the drums fuels a fire that pushes the groove and sound of Syndrome8. Watching him play is comparable to that of a controlled and talented madman. Jeff’s also responsible for helping arrange all of Syndrome8’s music, and being the foundation for which the band is built.

Paul’s song writing and style defines Syndrome8. Responsible for all of the music, he plays from his soul. Never compromising to himself, he pushes to be original, creative and the best player he can be. “I write what my soul say’s”. Striving in both songwriting and soloing, he is an accomplished player on and off the stage.

After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Alex returned to the tri-state area. His determination to become the best writer, singer and performer, led him in search of other musicians who shared his vision of words and music that conveys a meaningful message.

Through a listing in JerseyMusic.com, Paul answered Alex’s ad for musicians because he felt that Alex’s vocals and lyrics captured the essence of what he and Jeff were developing musically. Alex was faced with deciding whether to pursue his solo project, or join Paul and Jeff’s project to form a new band. After jamming with the guys the first time, Alex felt an undeniable chemistry…his choice was clear.

In May 2004 Syndrome8 was complete. Songs were their first priority. With music and arrangements for 6 songs done, including: “The Line” and “Paralyzed”, Alex got to work on adding his unique lyric and melody style. After completing 13 songs in 5 months, they booked their first gig at The Brighton Bar in Long Branch, NJ in September of 2004. While aggressively seeking venues to polish their live sound, the guys decided to get into the studio and record their debut EP, “Puppet,” completed Spring of 2005. “Puppet” features the songs Jeff, Paul, and Alex felt would impact their audience, leaving a lasting impression and representing the band’s original sound.

Things unfortunately took a detour when their original bass player left the band. After a brief interlude, Joey joined the group bringing years of experience and new life to the band.
The band knew he was a “perfect” fit.

With new songs like “Misery,” “Broken,” “Leave Me Be,” and “Shovel to the Stones,” Syndrome8 continues to evolve as a band by exploring different arrangements, time signatures, and melodic depth, while maintaining their signature hard-rock sound. Influenced by a broad spectrum of artists including Alice In Chains, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Black Label Society, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath, Syndrome8 is a dynamic combination of intensity, emotion, and truth. Their music is their voice.
