Tempered Steele's brand of groove-oriented rock is timeless. Formed in the 90s, the band was named in part using the last names of brother guitarists Eric and Kevin Steele. 'Tempered Steel' is a hardened, flexible metal. The music of Tempered Steele is a mixture of hard rock and metal with a flexibility that gives them a broader sound. Tempering is blending, and throughout their career they have successfully blended other sounds, styles and moods into their music, allowing themselves more creativity and widening their appeal. Following the example set by Led Zeppelin, they experiment with other styles of music which creates a sound that is unique. To temper can also mean to strengthen by experience.
