Tucson AZs, The American Black lung formed in 2003. It was a chance for a few friends to pay homage to all the bands and musical movements that helped shape the members themselves. Growing up listening to everything from hardcore to sixties-era garage bands to classic rock, the members of The American Black Lung consider themselves connoisseurs of Rock n Roll.
The ABL is not afraid to experiment with their song writing, incorporating as many dynamics as possible while still keeping the underlying theme of raw rock and roll. The musical diversity The American Black Lung displays has worked in their favor greatly. The band is capable of winning crowds over regardless of musical partisanship. Over the years The American Black Lung has shared the stage with an incredibly diverse roster of bands including; Zao, Haste the day, Further Seems Forever, Sinai Beach, Blindside, Inked in Blood, Boy Sets Fire, Norma Jean, As I Lay Dying, The Bled, Armor For Sleep, Bloody Sunday, No Innocent Victim, Relient K, Rufio, Beloved and MxPx just to name a few.

The American Black Lung has recently finished recording their next release on Burning House Records titled "...And They Rode Their Weapons Into War", to be released on August 1st 2006
