TheSpeaks' infectious sound and amazing live performances are quickly creating a dedicated underground following within the local, national, and international music scene - with fans that can be found as far as New York to Los Angeles and even Europe and Asia. Over the past 6 years, they have outlasted numerous growing pains and several band members to hone their craft and establish their current and final line-up.
Recently, TheSpeaks have been riding a HUGE wave of success by winning two of the largest music competitions on the east coast (JAXX 2003 Battle of the Bands & 2003 Hard Rock Café "Ultimate Altitude Buzz" DC/Baltimore Finals). Both competitions were won as a result of weeks/months of live performances and a combination of both judge/fan votes. Ultimately, TheSpeaks placed a close 2nd in the nation in the Hard Rock competition - an achievement in itself, but unprecedented for a rock group of all Asian-American descent - just further proof that music truly has no color!
