Formed in 2005, Washington, D.C.-based group, The Vicious Martinis, possess the tools of a big rock band. Fashioned from members of local/regional DC/VA/MD favorites Sorry About Your Daughter, Laughing Colors, EBO and combinationLOCK, the resulting All Star cast delivers music that is smart and displays an emo-edge with powerful vocals.
Though the Vicious Martinis is a new band, its members are anything but green. After two European releases on Marlboro Music with Sorry About Your Daughter, singer Glenn Hall teamed up with guitarist Brian Gass in the venerated Mid-Atlantic rock powerhouse combinationLOCK. After this project ran its course, Hall and Gass continued to pen songs as a duo but soon longed for new challenges and the energy and excitement of performing live. Bryan Smith was recruited from the disbanded power-pop rock group EBO (signed to Maverick) and proved to be not only to be a skilled bassist, but a well-suited song writing partner to boot. The addition of former Allwreck drummer Chris Piercy added an element of manic energy. The result is a seasoned cast that is mature enough to know their strengths yet ambitious enough to try new things.
