So, what kind of music are you into? Do you crave melody and harmony or are you turned on by a hard rockin' groove? No matter your preference, "High St." offers a musical collage for a wide range of tastes. Whether it's Jam Rock, Indie Rock, Funk, R & B, or Reggae, you'll hear it on "High St."

The band formed when two old friends returned to Monterey County. Songwriter/guitarist, Blaise DiGirolamo, of Chico's "the Kind", hooked up with bassist/singer, Robert Melendez, from San Diego's "Cardiff Reefers". The duo has collaborated since 1998, re-working older originals to start with. In the years that followed, they have produced a tasty blend of lyrics, harmony, and groove.

"High St." now finds itself in its second incarnation. After three years of searching, Blaise and Rob discovered the talents of drummer, Efrain Cantu. Whether as a percussionist in Mendocino County's "Pura Vida" or on the drum kit with Nor Cal rockers "Bed of Thorns", Efrain has given the pulse to countless grooves. Together with keyboardist, Jake Lackey, Santa Cruz's best kept secret and newcomer to the pro rock scene, the group is gearing up to promote their debut CD, "1101 High St."

In March of 2001, Blaise and Rob began tracking their jams and songs with Jake and drummer, Eric Bolivar, most widely known for his work in Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. The group released their debut CD, "1101 High St.", through Rob's fledgling music company, Ram Jam Music, just in time for the New Year 2002. The album is a musical journey from the hometown of the "Allman Brothers" to the borough of Ziggy Marley and a whole lot of other places in between.
