HAVE YOU SEEN JACKASS FLATS?
Heard their latest cd? Heard your friends talk about them? Maybe you saw their name in print or heard it announced on a radio station? The name alone, "Jackass Flats", has the tendency to catch the unsuspecting reader off guard as their music has the ability to catch the unsuspecting listener off guard.

Jackass Flats have taken their sound from their hometown of Richmond, VA, to the nation's premier venues and festival stages. Fueld by original songwriting, award winning musicianship, and exhilarating bluegrass instrumentation, Jackass Flats epitomizes the new generation of acoustic string bands who combine creativity and tradition to produce something all together unique.

The original Jackass Flats sound was formed from a large variety of influences coming together, such as bluegrass, rock, jazz, reggae and folk to name a few. With the release of their second album Purgatory Mountain in September 2005, the band released an album of all original music that reflects their love of bluegrass tradition and their determination to create a sound that is all their own.
