The record "Memphis Legs" by Ben Eaton and the Dirt Cheap Band is a look into the lives of folks who live close to the bone and have little more than faith left to to lean on.
It is not so much a day to day account of struggle as a situational thing. What do you do when you know you are way out over the line? How did you get there, and will anybody be waiting when you slide on back home?
Tuff talk and bullshit, Love and loss are all represented here and its all just about as real as it gets. The songs are deeply personal, yet somehow removed as though they have been there all along, as a warning, or a god damned bad joke.
Ultimately, I think "Memphis Legs is about Rock and Roll and what it does to you when you lay it all on the line. Everything is against you and you do it anyway. Fuck it!!
