This recording marks the second solo release from David Andrews: co-founder and singer/songwriter for the popular Portland-based band, Calobo. For the last decade, David Andrews has toured the nation with Calobo playing an average of 150 shows a year, with whom he has recorded five fulllength records that have collectively sold nearly 85,000 copies. On his new record, David adds his heartfelt style of songwriting to a newfound musical landscape to create ten energetic tracks that become indelible to the listener even after one pass. Andrews' smooth as whisky voice is further enhanced in these tracks with a musical style reminiscent of Emmylou Harris' "SpyBoy," and early sounds of bands like Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, and Jackson Browne. These songs reflect a clear pop-writing sensibility while still offering a dynamic range of both moods and sounds throughout the record. David's solo band features electric mandolin, lap steel guitar, Rhodes piano, Hammond organ, and plenty of high trademark vocal harmonies with powerhouse singer Stephanie Schneiderman.
"Laid-back, confident, and catchy...here, he shows off his intuitive understanding of popular songwriting, understated guitar playing, Bob Seger-ish voice, and exploratory, humble lyrics, complete with a few well-worn cliches for the home down feel...a simple pleasure."
- Carlo Marcelin Rocket Magazine
"The pursuit of dreams and the longing for love has rarely sounded so achingly beautiful. Or intelligent. This is a great introduction to his talent as a writer and a singer but there's a small problem...it's over too fast."
- Neil Fagan Performing Songwriter Magazine
