For David Andrews fans and newcomers alike...'Waiting for Henry' is a hidden gem that until now has not been available for sale. With southern swagger, airy harmonies, sharp lyrics and melodies that embed themselves into your head for days...David Andrews has written and produced a 4-song treasure that puts him one step closer to breaking through.
In 2001 David Andrews was touring nationally in support of his 2000 release, "Get Me Out of This Place", including stops in Austin, Texas... San Francisco, CA... Vancouver, B.C. ... Minneapolis,MN... New York City, N.Y... and many others. During a day off after a show in Chicago, David booked the band into ACME Studios to record a 4-song EP, which would eventually be mixed, mastered, released and titled, "Waiting for Henry"
The opening track "Lucinda", tells the tale of a crazy night spent in New York City on which occaission the woman bartending the party brought seven rounds of drinks each of them aflame. The story depicts a memorable, yet hardly remembered night in the streets of the Big Apple and a drunken journey to a southern graveyard. The closing track, "Take My Soul" describes the pain one feels when they haven't had the chance to say farewell to a loved one before they've chosen their departure from this world.
With a cast of players that have been known as the "who's who" of several national markets, this recording exudes raw talent of writing, melodic delivery, impeccable singing and some extraordinary textures and musical soundscapes. Here, David shows that he is an individual in a massive market of music, who stands out on his own as a truly talented and gifted performer.
