Druthers, the hidden track on the album (Lots and none at all) by the band of the same name, is a rollicky, good timing rant of a song about the things that we would all rather do than not. " Well I'd rather be alive than dead, and I'd rather be Barney than Fred, and I'd rather not get hit on the head cause I'd rather be alive than dead" :-)
Sometimes seen as a full blown roots rock band featuring cofounders and frontmen Dave and Mike Longenecker on vocals and guitars, Mr. Andy Gilstrap on drums, Mr. Josh Buckingham on organ/keys, and Mr. Andrew Fry on bass. Druthers can also be seen as an acoustic coffeehouse set with brothers Mike and Dave doing covers of their favorite songs as well as originals - both brand spanking new, and from this album. With influences from Bob Dylan to Allison Krauss and covering themes from love and loss, to redemption and and train wrecks. The music covers a wide range of styles and emotions. Acoustic in feel, whether piano or guitar driven, the genre "roots rock" seems to fit as best as any and yet not so much at times. This album was born of a "we should record some of this stuff" conversation between Dave and Mike, was tested and tried through the recording/editing process, and is now brought to you via the magic and the wonder of CDbaby.com Please do visit the web site, sign the guestbook, and listen to your hearts desire.
