ICEWAGON FLU RELEASES DEBUT ALBUM,
'TROUBLE HAS A CAR' ON JUNE 10, 2003 --
Album captures band's trademark live show wit and marries it with studio inventiveness
HOBOKEN, NJ, April 21, 2003 -- 'Music without borders' that's the maxim of the Hoboken, NJ-based ICEWAGON FLU sound. In just one of their smart, quirky, innovative songs, they can span the entire musical universe. Mixing Traditional Irish, American Country, R&B, Roots Rock, Calypso, and even a little Rap, ICEWAGON FLU always surprises unsuspecting listeners who enjoy the danceability of their music and tightness of the sound. The zaniness of their live shows have won them critical acclaim from audiences and promoters throughout the Tri-State area. If that weren't enough, the physical attractiveness of their fans has caused more than one soundman's heart to flutter.
GOBSHITE and SLIDES are the vocalists and resident comedians of the group, leading this band of merry misfits through night after night of stand-up hilarity and musical mischief. In addition to their unique brand of improvised mirth, GOBSHITE and SLIDES also lend their talents by performing on tin whistle, slide whistle, bodhrán, banjo, and kazoo. The physically powerful and musically astute performances of the lead singers are supported by BEAST on guitar and cockney slang, TIMMY on mandolin and crazy legs, TOMMY on drums and dirty looks, MR. WINSLOW tickling the tickly keys, and a bevy of bass players ranging from TONY STEELE (of Riverdance fame) to RICKY BELL (the Allentown, Pennsylvania Karaoke King).
ICEWAGON FLU will be releasing their first album, Trouble Has a Car, on Tuesday, June 10, 2003, and distributing it through JIVIN' JONES RECORDS, also based in Hoboken, NJ. Trouble Has A Car is a solid effort to capture THE FLU's live-show wit and marry it with studio inventiveness. Trouble Has A Car features the title track, the Asbury Park-tinged sound of STORMCLOUD, the boldly Irish WHISKEY AND SODA and LA CEBA, the rap roots styling of JIVIN' JONES, the barbershop paean to naturalism NUDITY, the country-fried flavor of VIRGIN AND A PORNSTAR, and much more.
ICEWAGON FLU are currently performing at venues throughout the Tri-State Area in support of their debut release and can be contacted and booked through email@example.com. For more information regarding the group and the most up-to-date tour schedule, please visit www.icewagonflu.com
