Recently transplanted from Nashville-by-way-of- Philadelphia, Rounds has long been a favorite at the Bluebird Cafe, Opryland, CMT's Roots Revival and elsewhere. He recently signed on as lead guitarist for John Wicks & The Records, the highly influential power-pop band responsible for such 3-minute gems as "STARRY EYES" and "TEENARAMA".
His own music has been described thus:
"This is the kind of thinking man's rock 'n' pop that has powered rock radio for decades. You can sing it, you can dance it and you darn well will love this music...a stunning mix of rock, pop, rockabilly and Opryland all rolled together."
- Don Krider, POWER POP MUSIC NEWS, 2001
His songs have appeared in motion pictures, theatre productions, and on television, most recently in the MTV/Paramount film "SPRING BREAK LAWYER".
He has performed in concert as guitarist and vocalist with John Lee Hooker, The Steve Earle Band, Carter Wood, Walter Egan and many others, and was part of John Fogerty's "BLUE MOON SWAMP" tour in 1997. Graham Nash and Charlie Gracie recently covered the rockabilly-flavored "A LITTLE TOO SOON TO TELL" for Gracie's new CD on Lanark Records.
Rounds plays 6- and 12-string electric and acoustic guitars and electric bass, and is currently an endorser for the new line of Pignose tube amplifiers and Danelectro guitars. He performs regularly at the National Association of Music Merchandisers (NAMM) shows, in both Los Angeles and Nashville.
