Urban life, heartbreak, and bitter-sweet memories, are all common themes in Jay Shaner's music. Intimate and personal, yet hauntingly familiar, Jay's sincere and emotional songwriting connects honestly and immediately. Like a twilight highway drive, or a lonely Sunday road, Jay's folk pop songcraft gently persuades and then breaks your heart.
Jay cut his teeth as a musician while fronting his former band Infinite Martini, which played for 2 years in Northern Calilfornia venues. After disbanding Jay released an 8 song solo EP "Broken Mics and Open Hearts", which in 2004 earned him a Sacramento Area music award nomination. In November of 2004 he also released his first full length recording, "Heavy Early". He is currently playing full-band and solo shows in support of it.
