I first started writing and recording music in my bedroom when I was a teenager, and, sadly to day, i never much progressed beyond that point from a technical standpoint. It did, however, solidify my taste in music, which boiled down to music I could conceive of playing myself -- or at least my ipterrpretation -- and therefore could, in some way, understand. I still think "Hang On Sloopy" is the greatest song ever written, and while I didn't, I think of it as my signature song, if only because I felt I could sing it convincingly at, say, age 17. I did make my own attempts at writing and recordng, and derived great pleasure from the process of putting a song together from start t finish, often suprised at the ways it turned out different from what you intended or expected. Nsaturally, had friends who shared my musical enthusiasims, and it was those original recordings upon which the Lost Cat catalog was founded. Since then we've evolved to represent some truly talented bands and songwriters, but it's always good to go back to your roots from time to time. Here, then, is where it all began...
