"loaf" is a 9 piece collection of musicians, 6 of whom are siblings. Through the years, various members have been involved in various projects, various bands. Then came along a cover band called "Cheap Date". Wildly popular everywhere they played, they have been together for (about) the last 20 years. "loaf" is the band name for the original project. (The name coming from many sources, but solidified by the fact that their mom HATES it).
As for "Damascus", it is a work three years in the making. It started out as a single melody line, and quickly became 15 pieces of music. The original title for the project, "generationL" was changed to "Damascus", which more clearly defined the intent of the music: to talk about the road we all walk along and how it changes constantly. It touches on many styles but carries throughout it a common thread. Clearly a look inside a soul, "Damascus" has been called an impressive first effort from a "who-the-heck-are-they" band.
