Love County takes it's name from the southernmost county in Oklahoma, where the family of Clay Berkes, frontman for the band, has it's origins. Most of the band, actually, hails from Oklahoma. Now, based out of Austin, Texas, the music is infused with the earnestness and urgency typified by the Oklahoma red dirt and Texas roots music scenes. The band steps outside of the typical bands of the genre by mixing up its rootsy core with psychedelic and soulful touches. Think Neil Finn meets Robert Earl Keen.
