Olive drab formed one drunken Sunday night at a bar in New Yorks' east village. Mo Goldner (of the now defunct punk band, The Hedgehogs) asked Charlene McPherson to harmonize on some Stones, Dylan, and Hank Williams songs.
Olive drabs' music alternates between uptempo country rock songs and reflective ballads. On their first album, McPhersons' voice and Mo's guitar are joined by new members, Lyle Scott (bass,guitar,vocals) and Josh Weingust (drums,guitar,piano). The music was recorded live in one or two takes with a few overdubs.
The group resides in a small upstate New York town called Smallwood.
