Ralph's talents include his ability to ad-lib, change or add lyrics mid-stream. With two or three words given by the audience, he and the band can hand back a new song off the cuff. Roddenbery is a storyteller; each song is an interpretation of some human condition, with a sense of overcoming and uplifting fun. The studio work is great and technically tuned, but live performances are a 'shake your tunester,' never two alike productions.
Originally from Cairo, Ga., Roddenbery moved to Athens, Ga. in 1986 and began writing and producing his music several years later. There are 2 CD's available and a new, live CD due to come out in the Spring of '05. Ralph has been showcased nationally, shared singer/songwriter duties with Grammy award winner Jim Lauderdale, shared stages with Ras Alan, and was invited to perform one of his original songs, "Boo Coo Disarray," backed by the Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull) Band in Atlanta, Ga. in 2003.
