It's no longer quiet on the midwestern front. From the home of such regional noteworthies as The Replacements, Husker DU, and Soul Asylum comes a new chapter in Minnesota music. Red Dot Garage is a straight forward power pop rock band with the occasional alt-country or funk curveball thrown in to keep the hitter off balance. Two guitars, bass, and drums are still relevant as their new disc proves. Mixing elements from the aforementioned bands along with a healthy dose of harmony vocals (remember those?) they capture an edgy chic with a classic vibe. No samples or lip-synching required. If you like your guitars to not only sing like a chorus but also occasionally squeal like a dog in heat, this may well be up your proverbial alley. The rhythm section is spot-on, the grooves big and infectious, and the lyrics both provocative and familiar enough to bring you back for more. Enough said. Give a listen and decide for yourself. Test drives from THIS garage are greatly encouraged. Don't be afraid to give it a little push....
