Rob Russell & the Sore Losers are a roots-rock band based in Johnson City, TN. Singer/songwriter Rob Russell has been active on the southeastern music scene for over 15 years, playing rock, blues, punk and alt.country in bars, roadhouses, honky-tonks, boat docks and music barns from Richmond VA to Memphis TN. The Sore Losers brings together all of the disparate influences of Rob's eclectic musical experience into a sweat-soaked package that listeners have likened to a "pentecostal revival" of rock and roll. With nods to influences as diverse as Springsteen and The Who, Rob Russell & the Sore Losers deliver powerful, old-school rock and roll with intelligent lyrics, tasteful musicianship, and a sense of humor. The rhythm section of Andy Russell (drums) and Josh Reifert (bass) unload a killer groove that rocks AND rolls; Rob and guitarist/vocalist David Hart add razor-sharp guitars and ringing harmonies.
