A small & quiet "textile mill town"
with a railroad track running right
thru the middle of town, Kings Mountain,
North Carolina is where I was born and raised.

Being the youngest of 6 siblings,
I was inspired by my brothers' and sisters'
45 & LP records and my Mama's music.
The church music she played on her accordion,
organ and piano filled our home and hearts...
God Bless Mama.

But frankly, my greatest source of inspiration
comes from a time and place where life was simple
and easy and the people were good and honest.
Mama never had to worry about where I was.
She knew I was either in the top of an old oak tree
or trailin' up the mountain. One thing was for sure,
I never strayed too far because I had
to be back in time for supper!

Scoot Pittman - Lake Montonia Road

Pittman is a talented tunesmith who's been writing and playing music around these parts for years. There's nary a hint of pretension in his work. It's the "music first" attitude that coaxes heart-felt songs from Pittman's muse. On Lake Montonia Road, Pittman gets a little help from locals Eric Lovell, Gigi Dover, Michael Reno Harrell and other NC music vets. (Shukla)-Creative Loafing Magazine

Creative Loafing STAFF Pick of the Week!!

Scoot is a long established Charlotte singer/songwriter and damn fine musician. His knack for melodic twists and turns is the foundation for his reliable song-crafting skills. -Creative Loafing Magazine 4/9/06

Scoot Pittman is a singer/songwriter who displays an emotive (read: genuine), bluesy acoustic soul rock sentiment which showcases a nice streetwise eclectic sound. He plays all the aforementioned elements with a live and kickin' attitude, and there's no reason why he can't be a star on the touring jam band circuit..." Samir Shukla - Creative Loafing

Instead of describing the show, I'll give you a few adjectives: quick on the uptake, pure quality, up to snuff, all there, on the ball, scintillating, glorious, dazzling, splendid, splendiferous, magnificent, marvelous, palatable, recherch, sensational, stupendous, superb, undefiled, in a class by oneself...
