shawn nel*son and the ram*blers (noun)
1. Pure Texas Fonky Tonk. 2. Hill-Country Rock 'N Roll. Based in Austin, Texas and with roots sunk deep in the traditional forms of American music, Shawn Nelson and the Ramblers' rootsy, funky, and folky take on rock n' roll has served as an original recipe for close to 100 unique shows since their first show in March of 2004. They call their music "Fonky-Tonk", but the band is more focused on the spirit of their music than the genre. As echoes of blues, rock and country are heard from show to show, the band consistently creates an original, yet familiar sound that captivates its listeners with well-crafted songs, high harmonies and groove laden melodies. Shawn Nelson and The Ramblers are playing in venues in Texas, New Mexico and Colorado. The band is planning on recording another record in the early summer.
