"Rewards the listener with the emotional depth of his songs...talented wordsmith...natural and unpretentious...no dead weight...guitar with a rich and occasionally biting tone"
Dave Soyars IRISH HERALD/NEW IRISH GAEL June 2006

San Francisco based singer-songwriter Tony Ryan began writing songs as a teenager growing up in Dublin. He was influenced by everything from the the pub ballads of the Dubliners and Christy Moore to Elvis Costello and the emerging Dublin rock scene centered around the Baggot Inn and McGonigles.

Eventually, after immigrating to New York, he made his first recordings and live appearances at bars and clubs in Queens and Manhattan.

After three years on the east coast, Tony moved to San Francisco where he continued to build a live pub repertoire consisting of his own material along with covers of songs from a who's who list of songwriters and the best Irish pub ballads.

The new CD 'Unholy Blue' showcases eight new original songs that have featured in Tony's live act over the past year.
