Transfer, the product of four veteran san diego musicians, amalgamate atmospheric, moody, reverb-drenched soundscapes with jagged, trashy, hook-laden rock. Though comparisons have been made, the music is completely unique, meticulous, yet vaguely familiar.
Within a month of releasing the 7-song e.p., "the guts of my arm," TRANSFER was nominated for a 2004 san diego music award for best local recording. The band was also observed in the "best of san diego" union-tribune readers' poll 2004 for best local band. Transfer shared the category with Louis XIV, Slightly Stoopid, Rocket From the Crypt, and Switchfoot. 91X/XTRA added Transfer's "Waltz" to The Lab, a specialty program which airs nightly. In addition, "Waltz" and "The Plot" (both from the new self-titled EP) have received spins in regular rotation on 91X (daytime play). Early 2005, FM94.9/KBZT included "Waltz" in the Band Of The Week specialty feature. In April, FOX6/XETV's Fox Rox recognized Unwritten Law, Jason Mraz, and Transfer in their "Best Local Bands" program. Check out the artist's website: http://transferband.com Track List: 1. Waltz 2.
